Dalgleish Kilts were an already established kilt hire business based in Motherwell.
In a unique position they are the sole distributors for the Motherwell FC Tartans and they came to Scotia looking to leverage that position as well as grow both their hire and sale business.
This website was the result of almost 4 months work including a complete online store with several hundred highlandwear products including the complete range of Motherwell FC Tartan products.

Alba Percussion are a new manufacturer of inovative products for the Pipe Band marketplace.
All their products were designed to fill a space in the wide market of drumming products, all serving a specific need.
Alba approached Scotia Web Design in April after the successful launch of the Torphichen and Bathgate website, and within 2 months this simple, yet effective web presence was online, comprising online store, product information and gallery.

Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe Band are one of the oldest civilian pipe bands in history, dating back to 1902. Based in West Lothian they have been one of the most successful Grade 2 Pipe Bands in the World in recent years.
Torphichen needed a website to provide them with a professional image to potential sponsors, new players and the corporate entertainment hire marketplace.
Incorporating simple navigation, a combination of dynamic and static content, player profiles as well as an online store for merchandise this site took 3 months from concept to completion.

L-Tec Controls Ltd are THE longest running controls company in Scotland, formed in 1974. Based in Cumbernauld they have been one of the leaders in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning market for over 33 years serving many local authorities, public and private sector clients.
L-Tec had tried partnering with various web design companies and just never got a solution they were happy with until now.
With a full flash header and a sub flash movie activated via the play button on the hand set, after the initial meeting this site went from concept live in only 12 days.

Alba were looking for a website purely as a point of presence on the internet to go hand in hand with their other marketing campaigns.
Scotia provided the domain name, the hosting, all the graphic work including logo creation and of course the website. There is no programming involved in this website, with purely static content.

NAS Scotland offer a comprehensive range of staffing staffing services with focus on driving industries providing temporary, contract and permanent staff.
NAS approached Scotia with the concept for a self managed content website where they could advertise their latest vacancies and have new potential clients apply online.
Scotia provided the hosting, the domain name transfers, all the graphic work, animations, the dynamic content programming for the jobs interface and of course a simple in-house content management tool for the NAS Staff to maintain their own content.

RT Shepherd and Son (Scotland) Ltd are recognised as one of the top manufacturers of bagpipes, chanters and reeds in the pipe band world. Shepherd products are purchased the world over by solo pipers and pipe bands who demand perfection. Shepherd Products have been winners at the World Pipe Band Championships in the Premier Grade 1 event for several years.
Scotia provided the hosting, the design, all the graphic work, and managed a rather lengthy series of domain transfers to the new hosting.
Dynamic News feeds, online shopping and secure checkout are just 3 of the applications build to make this site operate. A high quantity of graphic work was also needed to give the site is fresh look.
Scotia will also undertake all the management and maintenance of this website, leaving RT Shepherd to do what they do best - manufacture quality championship winning products for piper and pipe bands all over the world.

Stand At Ease, a brand new family run business specialising in Patient Assistance. They required a presence website to get their specialised services recognised.
Scotia provided the domain name, the hosting, the site design and the graphic work for the logo which was also used for the vans and headed paper.
All pages on this site are static with no programming, a good example of a simple presence site with a clean crisp design using simple mouse over menu based navigation.

Site Drilling Services Ltd required a website to gain a presence on the internet and showcase their company and services. Diamond Drilling and Sawing is a competitive business with several companies offering the same services in the area.
Scotia provided the domain name, the hosting and the design of the site.
All pages on this site are totally static with no programming and it uses a Javascript gallery to better promote each of the services on offer, there is also image protection used on the galleries as a method of protecting the images from theft.

The RSPBA were as already mentioned the first ever Scotia customer in 2003. The original design of the site was revamped in December 2005 offering many new features including an e-commerce store, complete content management, new crisp design, banner advertisement and further expansion of the database content.
This is the most complex of all the Scotia web sites, over 9 million hits in 2005, 14 MySQL Database tables and somewhere in the region of 30,000 lines of PHP coding.
Scotia provided the multiple domain names that point here, the hosting, all the custom programming as well as live support on the field on the days of the 5 Major Championships throughout the year.
The redevelopment included Content Managed Solution, online store with secure payment methods, redeveloped database solution for faster response times, online search of content using indexes amongst other enhancements.
This site also uses advert as a method of covering costs, each advert show and click stats are counted and reported on a monthly basis.

Tech Direct UK Ltd was a new venture in a very elite area called Technical Couriers. Technical Couriers as well as providing a standard same day courier service also provided computer hardware replacements, installation, upgrades and data transfer.
Scotia provided the domain name, hosting, design and all application programming inside this site.
The needs of the single biggest application inside this site took several weeks of programming and testing. Tech Direct had a need for their corporate customer such as Dell and Tech Xpress to log into their site and be able to track where each item was on a given day, week or month.
A management tool for the drivers and installation engineers was written for their PDA’s running Windows Mobile allowing them after delivery to update the database with the relevant information, this was a live uplink using GPS.
Corporate customers can then check immediately which systems have been sent out and installed versus still in transit.

As well as the RSPBA having a headquarters they also have many branches providing local needs around the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. One of the largest branches representing over 35 pipe bands is that of Lothian and Borders.
Scotia provided the domain name, hosting, design and all application programming inside this site. The application programming was pretty minimal for this site using a simple registration form allowing people to register for events and promotions, these are stored in a database and used as the basis for mail shots. Other features included within this site included Guest book and Java script Galleries.
Whilst serving a much smaller community than it’s parent site www.rspba.org this website has been extremely successful and helped towards driving increased contest and event attendance.

Kingsgate Motor Company went under new management in January 2005 and as such looked for a completely new website as well as corporate brand.
Scotia provided the hosting and transferral of domain name as well as the website design, graphics and all application programming inside the site.
This site required that the cars could be easily updated as they were bought and sold and a very simply content management application was written allowing cars to dynamically be added, removed and edited to the database by the partners in the office. Scotia also provided the interaction and knowledge to bridge Kingsgates new website to the Auto Traders website and prevent duplicate work.
Kingsgate loved the work so much it our graphics now form part of their other marketing activities with Auto Trader and local newspapers.

Linlithgow and District Pipe Band is another site that has been around for a long time and been through various redevelopment cycles. As an active player in the band Jason done the first LDPB site before Scotia Web Design was formed. Jason is still an active player in the band today and looks after this site on a free basis.
The website is an active part of the bands corporate strategy and provides the catalyst for many well paying jobs and events as well as foreign travel for the band.
The site design uses both static and dynamic pages, the dynamic pages used to serve up news feeds contributed by any band member. A guestbook also provides feedback and comment from other players around the world and a secure members section holds another database application which stores contact details for members.

Hotels for Scotland was a new project for ITA Hotels. Serving cheap accommodation deals, attraction tickets and tours for visitors to Scotland.
Scotia provided the domain names, hosting, design and application programming.
The programming for this site included a registration system allowing users to register their interests and receive mail shots via e-mail based on their preferences, a content management solution was provided for the staff in the office to easily add and remove offers as and when they become available. Items are sold using a shopping cart with secure payment transactions.

DK Joiners and Builders already had a very successful business when they began looking for a website. They seen their website as a presence allowing architect and planning companies to read all about them and their services. They also wanted to use their website to showcase examples of their work.

There was no programming involved and all static pages make up this site which uses a building theme throughout. A Javascript gallery is used to show both thumbnails and larger images of both work in progress and completion throughout the variety of product areas.

St. Ronan’s Piping Society was the 2nd customer of Scotia, and came very quickly after the RSPBA first site went live, maintaining the initial links with pipe band websites. Based in Innerleithen the society organises and runs the Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships every year and were looking for a website which could help to spread their message, encourage more attendance from bands and grow the personal and corporate sponsorship.
Scotia provide the domain name, the hosting and the website design.
This site uses a combination of static and dynamic content with database tables in the background for annually collecting feedback of visitors who attend the event as well as a guestbook. A complete javascript gallery is also included sharing images from the events.
In 2006 this site continues to be successfull as does the relationship with Scotia Web Design who now sponsor one of the events at the championships, advertise in the programme on the day and are a corporate member.
